My documentary Shared Resources follows my parents’ five-year-long bankruptcy in the wake of my dad losing his job as a debt collector, Hurricane Katrina, and the expense of my college education. This film will be re-edited live through interruptions by other works, including my collaboration with my mom Deborah, I Can Hear My Mother’s Voice and In It Together, a short video featured in a live performance by Amelia Bande and Rachel Higgins, comprised of a song whose lyrics largely consist of dialogue from Shared Resources.
