Justin Allen, Troizel Carr, and Bleue Liverpool participate in an evening of readings, projection mappings, and improvisational acts scripted with and without an audience. Dislocating the neatness of categories such as autonomy and sociality and positioning these as irreducibly entangled states, the evening will ask what it is that collectively formed questions can serve to rupture and preserve.
Justin Allen is a writer and performer from Northern Virginia. He has written for Lambda Literary, ARTS.BLACK, and the Leslie-Lohman Museum's journal The Archive, among others. He has read at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Poetry Project, and Artists Space, and is a 2017 – 2018 Queer|Art Fellow in literature.
troizel is black + queer + alive and it is spectacular. he is a PhD student at New York University in Performance Studies, interested in the sensual register of black thought and aesthetics. in his art practice, he is primarily concerned with multiple forms: video, embodied, and sonic.
Bleue Liverpool is a multimedia artist from Brooklyn, New York. Her work is often mixed and projected live both as performance and sculptural installation utilizing projection mapping. She has conducted experiments at Westbeth Artists Community and the New Museum, New York; Tanz Im August, Berlin; David Roberts Art Foundation, London; and a multitude of DIY spaces nationally and internationally. She recently received the inaugural Mary Ellen Mark Memorial Scholarship, and will complete a body of work at the International Center of Photography.
