Calling all artists!
Continuing our program of Survival Skills Workshops we are pleased to offer the following FREE talks.
Jennie C. Jones (b.1968) was born in Cincinnati, OH and lives and works in Hudson, NY. Her interdisciplinary practice seeks to engage viewers visually and aurally. Drawing on painting, sculpture, sound, and installation, Jones’s conceptual works reflect on the legacy of modernism and minimalism. Their unconventional materials and reductive compositions highlight the perception of sound within the visual arts.
Carlos Motta (b. 1978, Colombia) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice documents the social conditions and political struggles of sexual, gender, and ethnic communities, challenging normative discourses through acts of self-representation. His work spans a variety of media, including video, installation, sculpture, drawing, web-based projects, performance, and symposia.
Through photography, drawing, sculpture, and film, Adam Putnam (b. 1973) examines the social and aesthetic dimensions of human bodies, often by pushing the physical limits of his own. Wrestling with the body’s relationship to light and space, Putnam engages with live action as a means of investigating the intersection of our physical selves with the architectural spaces we inhabit.
