Segue Reading Series: Sarah E. Brook & Sara Jimenez. March 19, 2022, Artists Space.

Sarah E. Brook is a sculptor from the desert. Brook has received support from the Leslie-Lohman Museum, BRIC, NARS, I-Park, SPACE, Jentel and more. Brook has installed public art in Riverside Park, Prospect Park, Crystal Park (NY), and has forthcoming long-term and permanent public projects in Brooklyn and the Bronx.

Sara Jimenez is a Filipinx-Canadian interdisciplinary artist based in New York. Her work complicates pre-existing narratives of place, lineage, and temporality. Selected exhibitions include the Pinto Art Museum, El Museo del Barrio, Rush Arts Gallery, BRIC Gallery, The Brooklyn Museum, The Bronx Museum, among others. Selected residencies include Brooklyn Art Space, Wave Hill’s Winter Workspace, the Bronx Museum’s AIM program, Yaddo, BRICworkspace, Art Omi, Project for Empty Space, LMCC’s Workspace and Bemis (upcoming). Selected honors include NYFA and Canada Council for the Arts Grants. Her work was recently acquired as part of the permanent collection of the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice.
