Segue Reading Series: Lyric Hunter & Adrian Shirk. October 9, 2021, Artists Space.

Lyric Hunter’s poetry and prose can be found online at Tagvverk, Counter, Cordella, and Organism for Poetic Research. She is the author of two chapbooks, Motherwort (Guillotine, 2017), and Swallower (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2014), as well as an essay called “The Only Thing You Have,” which is included in an anthology entitled More City Than Water: A Houston Flood Atlas, forthcoming from University of Texas Press. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Pratt Institute and she lives in Brooklyn, where she has just enrolled in the Master’s of Archives and Public History Program at NYU.

Adrian Shirk is the author of And Your Daughters Shall Prophesy, a hybrid-memoir exploring American women prophets and mystics, named an NPR ‘Best Book’ of 2017. Her odyssey of American utopian experiments Heaven Is a Place on Earth is out spring 2022. She teaches in Pratt Institute’s BFA Creative Writing Program.
