Fred Moten is an American cultural theorist, poet, and scholar whose work explores critical theory, black studies, and performance studies. His scholarly texts include The Undercommons: Fugitive Planning & Black Study, In the Break: The Aesthetics of the Black Radical Tradition, and The Universal Machine. Moten was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship.


Onyx Collective is an experimental Jazz and art ensemble based in New York City. Founded in 2014 by Isaiah Barr in Lower East Side Manhattan.
