Soskolne likens the act of looking at painting to watching film, and her large paintings address this conflation of spectacle and practice. Her work references films that are in themselves a comment on film theory and practice, such as Hitchcock’s Rope, the films of Chantal Ackerman, or Soskolne’s own filmic creations.
