January 5 – February 9, 1980
KEN GOODMAN'S paintings will hang in the back gallery from January 5 to February 9. This representational work takes its imagery from media and art historical sources such as Japanese prints and fashion photographs. Each picture is rendered in black or gold on a white ground and provocatively combines the qualities of drawing and painting. In discussing his work Goodman quotes Djuna Barnes' Nightwood -- "An image is a stop the mind makes between uncertainties".
