A Benefit Exhibition and Sale for Artists Space

In tribute to Artists Space's 10th Anniversary year, over 500 artists who first showed at Artists Space have been invited to submit a small work of art for this exhibition (10 December 1983 - 14 January 1984).

All the exhibited works will be for sale, and each artist has agreed to contribute to Artists Space either the full sales price or 50% of it. Although Artists Space never takes a commission on work sold in its gallery, this benefit plan allows both unaffiliated artists and those represented by galleries to participate with greater flexibility.

Among the many artists who will be represented in the exhibition, a number include: Alice Aycock, John Baldessari, Ericka Beckman, Jonathan Borofsky, Farrell Brickhouse, Gary Burnley, Louisa Chase, Charles Clough, Hermine Ford, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Louise Lawler, Tom Lawson, Les Levine, Robert Longo, Allan McCollum, Ree Morton, Nic Nicosia, Dennis Oppenheim, Cindy Sherman, Donald Sultan, John Torreano, and Jeff Way.

Artists Space's exhibition program is sponsored by the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency. Foundation and corporate supporters include: Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, Jerome Foundation, Lauder Foundation, and Samuel Rubin Foundation; AT&T Long Lines, Chase Manhattan Bank, Citibank, Con Edison, EXXON, Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb, R.H. Macy and Company, Morgan Guaranty Trust Company, Philip Morris, and Warner Communications.
