Digital Mapping: Architecture as Media

March 28 – May 23, 1998

The exhibition Digital Mapping: Architecture as Media, curated by architect Hani Rashid, brought together four young international architects working with media. The selected architects, John Cleater, Ridzwa Fathan, Patrick Keane, and Marie Sester, presented video installations and projections that addressed spatial relationships and explored the intersection between architecture and new technologies.

Digital Mapping: Architecture as Media paralleled physical and digital spaces. In her review of the show, Martha Schwendener underlined that connection by stating that “computers affect space, social interaction, communication and cognition, just as architecture does.” The works were simultaneously exploring architecture’s potential as a medium for installation art.

The Project Space was hosting Through the Tulips & The Red Red Rose by Anne Gardiner during the same time period.
