The AIDS FORUM is an on-going venue for the presentation of personal and/or collective expressions created in response to the AIDS crisis and the devastating effect that it is having on all of us as a society and as individuals. As long as AIDS is among us the forum shall serve as a reminder that so much needs to be done in order to eradicate this dreadful disease from our midst.
AIDS is not one thing for all people. This installation juxtaposes, emotionally and conceptually, the different meanings and responses people have. Fear as an emotional reflex underlying these meanings and responses is evoked through the use of medical waste and words. A part of the composition is a black framed handwritten personal expressions by those often least heard; persons with AIDS and their care partners.
