"Dario Badillo was my best friend and soul mate for twenty three years. He died two years ago of AIDS. These paintings are for him.
The first painting is his AIDS figure. The orange flames represent the pain he went through. The second painting is the ascension of his spirit. As I completed these two paintings a friend pointed out that they look like two lovers, and through the spirit that is just what Dario and I were. Two lovers."
