Dear friends and colleagues,

As the holidays approach and you begin to think about the institutions that matter the most to you, please consider making a year-end donation to Artists Space.

Your ongoing support makes our dynamic program possible.

In 2015 alone, Artists Space produced over 55 public programs, directly engaging 119 artists. Groundbreaking exhibitions of Laura Poitras, Hito Steyerl, Tom of Finland, and Union Gaucha Productions confirmed our ongoing commitment to art that speaks to the complex social and political realities of the world today.

To sustain this level of commitment, we need you to be both audience and participant. Every dollar you give provides crucial support for the unique programs that make Artists Space central to three generations of artists living and working in New York City.

The City is changing before our eyes; rents are the highest they have ever been. Artists and not-for-profits are forced to move further and further away from the City's traditional arts neighborhoods. In other words, there has never been a more important time to support the work of artists in New York.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays,

"Founded in 1972, this remains one of New York's best alternative spaces. The current survey of work by the German artist and writer...is a stellar example."

– Martha Schwendener on Hito Steyerl in The New York Times

"...in the Tom of Finland universe, (homo)sexual pleasure isn't just fun, it's right. That was a bold position to take in an oppressive climate."

– Jason Farago on Tom of Finland: The Pleasure of Play in The Guardian

"...richly complicated...beautifully wrought examples of the art of documentary portraiture."

– Ken Johnson on Laura Poitras: 9/11 Trilogy in The New York Times

"The year's sexiest show was also one of its smartest."

– Vince Aletti on Tom of Finland: The Pleasure of Play in Artforum, "Best of 2015"
